| ** Ugh! What happened to your jazz/blues roots? |
| *** Wel degelijk hoor. |
|
| * So so bad. Desperation in the worst way. |
| ** Weren't commercial channels in Australia trying to flog this off 8 months ago, in which it was then largely rejected by the music-buying public? Why is it only becoming a hit in the US now?!?

It's slightly catchy, but a disappointment considering I liked "Keep Your Head Up" and "Fine By Me".

A step in the wrong direction.

EDIT: I've heard this on the radio 5 times in the last 2 days, so it looks like the hit radio stations are trying to give this another crack.

Listening to it more, I've come to realize that it's dreadful, especially that country auto-tune singing and perhaps even a few questionable lyrics.

Please don't become a hit here.

3* -> 2* Last edited: 21.05.2015 17:35 |
| *** Nervig, trotz nettem Video |
| ** Absolutely atrocious. A terrible attempt at making a country song. Just sounds irritating, desperate and tacky. The vocals especially epitomise the fauxness of it. If he was attempting to make one of the most irritating songs to chart this decade, than well done. Shame this is becoming a hit, was hoping I'd never hear it again when it charted for the first time.

Edit: I still think it sounds like it's trying to be country (but more what lots of people probably imagine country being as opposed to what it really is, if that makes any sense at all) and it does really sound cringey. And it's still so irritating too. At least he's choosing not to cheat on his partner and that's a good thing but it's not really enough to save it from being bad. I'm pleased it didn't get big in Australia like I was imagining it would, has certainly helped with hating it less. Not for me at all tbh. Last edited: 29.11.2015 01:57 |
Jetzt gefällt's mir gut, so erfrischend schnell.
Könnt aber auch bald nerven. |
| **** My personal "so bad it's good" song of the year. I find it really catchy, although it's more of an earworm situation rather than something that I would genuinely remember and listen to. The lyrics to the song aren't really good, but I remember every single verse from the song without needing to even listen to it. |
| **** Did not even remember that I heard this ages ago until I glanced at the video and remembered that. Easily the most memorable thing about this song.

But it has an incredibly fun and catchy chorus. It's not a fantastic song, and it's certainly not country, but I do kind of like it.

The Eli Young Band version is weaker. It has more elements of country in it but as a result it sounds messier and is less enjoyable which is a shame. |
| **** Nothing special. |
| ** Several cringe moments in this song. Mostly the "I'm good" response implies avoiding an awkward situation and hoping it will quickly pass by. The difficulty is that the awkward topic can't pass by quickly as the listener has to endure 3 minutes of the said topic. Adieu and adiós. |
| **** nettes lied, nett. leichtfüssig, unbeschwert und fröhlich |
| **** Gut |
| **** Fröhlich, leicht und catchy |
| *** 3- |
