Das äusserst erfolgreiche zweite Album von Boyz II Men glänzt mit seinen Singleauskopplungen "I'll Make Love To You" (blieb 14 Wochen in den US-Charts, während ihr bis dato grösster Hit "End Of The Road" "nur" eine Woche weniger lang in den Charts blieb, "On Bended Knee" und "Water Runs Dry". Das Album, u.a. von Babyface und Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis produziert, positionierte sich auf Platz 1 der damaligen Billboard-Album-Charts. Die Albumtracks sind ansonsten im Vergleich zu den Singleauskopplungen eher unauffällig, was aber nicht bedeutet, dass sie schlecht klingen. Gerade "Fallin'", ein Song, welcher nicht auf allen Versionen des Albums vorhanden ist, ist eine wahre vergessene R&B-Perle. Eine Acapella-Coverversion des Beatles-Klassikers "Yesterday" befindet sich ebenfalls auf diesem Album.

My favourite boy band album of all time and one of the best of the 90's aswell. Has some low points but is still exceptional.

The biggest selling global boyband album of 1994.

Habe ich mich mir 1994 nach den grossen No. 1 Hits in den USA "End of the road" und "I'll make love to you" ohne zu Zögern gekauft - und war masslos enttäuscht. Neben "I'll make love to you" und "On bended knee" hat das Album nämlich gar nichts zu bieten und einige Tracks sind sogar richtig schwach.

Quite a good album, the hits on here are solid and are amongst the best of Boyz II Men's career. Unsure how this stacks against Motownphilly but Water Runs Dry in particular is a standout, and it feels like they went for a more mid-tempo sound in this one and it works for the most part. A few duds on here, and the cheese factor is sometimes a bit much, but all in all, it's a nice listen.
