Da kann der Guetta mit "NTBT 2.0" klar nicht mithalten. Mit den starken Vorabsingles "Bounce", "Feel So Close", "Let's Go", "We'll Be Coming Back" und "Sweet Nothing", sowie wie schon das vorher erwähnte "We Found Love" waren die Erwartungen natürlich sehr hoch und diese wurden klar erfüllt. Es gibt neben den oben erwähnten Singles Dance-Pop mit starker weiblicher Unterstützung ("I Need Your Love"), Dancebeats mit Rapparts (z.B "Drinking From The Bottle") sowie kürzere, meist 2 Minuten lange Non-Vocal Songs. Ich hätte mir zwar den tollen "Spectrum" Remix noch auf dem Album gewünscht, aber man kann ja nicht alles haben.<br><br>Highlights: Neben dem Oberhighlight und einer besten Songs der letzten Jahre "We Found Love", sind die Singles "Sweet Nothing", "Let's Go" und "Feel So Close", sowie die hoffentlich als Single erscheinenden"I Need Your Love" und "Drinking From A Bottle".<br>

Calvin Harris ist ein Meister seines Faches, nahezu jeder Song des Albums besticht durch eine tadellose, fette Produktion. Einige Tracks wirken für sich alleine ohne Vocals ("Awooga", "Green Valley", ...), andere leben gerade durch den Gesang erst so richtig auf ("We Found Love", "I Need Your Love", "Sweet Nothing", ...). Auch die ausgefalleren Stücke wie "Mansion", "Here 2 China" und "Awooga" können mich überzeugen.<br>Womöglich läuft Calvin Harris David Guetta bald den Rang ab. Die Nummer 1 in den UK-Charts ist ihm mit "18 Months" auf jeden Fall sicher.<br><br>Fazit: Als Electro/Synthie/Dance/House-Fan sollte man hier unbedingt reinhören! |

Well what can I say, Calvin Harris is in hot property right now, unfortunately his album suffers because of it. Aside from all his big hits, the rest of his album is poorly produced and feels like a waste of time really.<br><br>It's a shame because his last album was pretty good back when he was a nobody. |

1. Green Valley: 3.5*. It's good but it's nothing special.<br>2. Bounce: 5.5*. Has to be the best dance song of 2011. Also has a good video IMO.<br>3. Feel So Close: 4.5*. It's a really great song but Calvin's vocals are very generic. Like a male version of Who's That Chick.<br>4. We Found Love: Used to love this but Rihanna's vocals are poor and there isn't enough lyrical content.<br>5. We'll Be Coming Back: 3.5*. A lesser version of Feel So Close and Example's voice is a bore.<br>6. Mansion: 3.5*. Sounds like a track missing from Nothing But The Beat.<br>7. Iron: 4.5*. Of the instrumentals on the album, it's easily the best.<br>8. I Need Your Love: 6*. Simply amazing. Ellie & Calvin should do more songs together. Best on the album.<br>9. Drinking From The Bottle: 5.5*: Yes it's generic but I love it.<br>10. Sweet Nothing: 3.5*. It was great but unlike the rest of Florence's discography the vocals aren't a stand out.<br>11. School: 4*: It's pretty good but not great.<br>12. Here 2 China: 2.5*: Is easily the poorest song on the album<br>13. Let's Go: 3*. Very boring.<br>14. Awooga: 3.5* Kind of same-y.<br>15. Thinking About You: 4*. I expected great vocals because DJ's never use an unknown artist with bad vocals. They are bad vocals but with tonnes of autotune it's not bad.<br><br>Overall it feels like a best dance tracks of 2011-12 compilation as there's no theme to the album. 18 Months says it kind of is anyway<br><br>4.5*

Also die sich hier abspielende Euphorie rund um das Album "18 Months" kann ich als "Dance/Trance/Elektronik-Liebhaberin" überhaupt nicht nachvollziehen/verstehen. <br><br>Ich kaufte mir dieses Album, da ich die Zusammenarbeit zwischen "Calvin Harris" und "Rihanna" mit "We Found Love" toll fand. Doch als ich es nun durchhörte (mit der Erwartung das viele Titel im ungefähr demselben "Dance-Stil" gehalten sind), stellte ich fest, dass die knapp 20 € vollkommen umsonst waren. Ein katastrophales Album mit nur wenig Highlights:<br><br>Calvin Harris - Feel So Close 4*<br>Rihanna feat. Calvin Harris - We Found Love 6*<br>Calvin Harris feat. Ne-Yo - Let's Go 6*<br>Calvin Harris feat. Ayah Marar - Thinking About You 6*<br><br>Fazit: Überhaupt nicht berauschend! Wer sich dieses Album aus dem selben Grund zulegen möchte wie ich, der sollte tunlichst die Finger davon lassen. Denn die meisten Tracks auf diesem Album haben rein gar nichts mit "Dance" zum tun. Eine Durchschnittsbewertung von 3,3* kommt bei mir heraus. Une catastrophe de l'album... 3*

If Calvin had released this around 4 years ago I would've probly given it a big miss but because I loved his previous singles material I was keen to get my hands on this even though at least 4 singles had already been released, I wanted to find that missing gem.<br>I was left feeling very disappointed and feeling like that person that never has fun in the club.<br>I also think David Guetta saturating the charts over the last few years has slowly but surely killed my love of general house dance music, which Calvin essentially is.<br><br>46/90 |

55/90 for me. It's really difficult to judge an album like this now since I've had my run with most of the singles. For example, I loved Sweet Nothing, and now am non-fazed by it. But had that not been a single, I probably would have loved it and given it a higher rating, the same with many of the other singles that have just been killed due to overplay over the last two years. What kills the album for me is the stupid instrumental tracks. Yes I know Calvin is a DJ and that is his kind of stuff, but it's exactly what I hated about his first album and what I thought had changed with this one judging by the singles. But no, they're still there. There's nothing great that we haven't heard before on here (thanks to the nine singles that have been released from the album) and so I think this album is kind of a waste of time :( |

Calvin Harris scheint ja diesem Album nach einen eigenen Sound im Genre der Electro/House-Musik zu haben, den man auch in jedem der einzelnen Songs sofort spürt! Daher lässt sich auch eine gewisse Zusammen-gehörigkeit aller Songs dieses Albums feststellen, was das Album, wenn man den Sound mag, zum Teil sehr hörenswert macht! Bedeutend ist noch zu erwähnen, dass trotz zahl-<br>reicher (auch zum Teil durchaus bekannter) Kollaborationen gerade "Feel So Close" für mich das absolute Highlight des Albums geworden ist! Anständige 4*!
