***** Well the crazy love I had for her about nine years ago has died down, but I can still appreciate a talented, non-skanky woman singing a song which is not a generic party track. Her voice is as strong as ever, and while this is far from her best work, the song builds well and is a decent pop effort. I'm glad she's back.

Edit: I can feel some crazy love coming on..... ***** It's far from being my favourite Delta song, but this is yet another fine slice of pop from the best Australian popstar. The song is unusually catchy in the sense that it is a sing-a-long moment, but it does get stuck in your head easily.

EDIT:
Upgraded to 5! Last edited: 20.04.2012 14:19
**** Nice comeback track. Could become a hit, especially if she does a Adam Levine/Christina Aguilera and continually promotes the song on The Voice Australia.

I don't know why, but it reminds of Ricki-Lee's comeback track last year, which isn't a good thing.
*** I hard to believe it's come to this after she used to release some of THE best pop Australia has ever seen. It sounds a little cheap and tacky, but it's a decent return. Last edited: 28.04.2012 10:53
****** I really like this it's just enough catchy and not at all annoying. She is such a good singer as well, I love the bits where she goes high and I really love the fun and carefree video. Great comeback track (and probably her best since In this Life) Last edited: 08.04.2014 03:21
***** Wat een mooi nummer is dit zeg! Delta Goodrem heeft al een tijdje geen hit meer te pakken in Nederland, maar daar mag verandering in komen met dit prachtige 'Sitting On Top Of The World'. Wow! (Had trouwens ook een nummer van Brooke Fraser kunnen zijn in het verlengde van 'Something In The Water') Last edited: 25.04.2012 22:40
*** This song is ok, but somehow I don't enjoy this as much as I could. I think it's because the style was more suited to an era long ago. The repetition of "now I'm with you" seems lazy when lyrical variety would have improved the song. That weird vocal autotune at the start reminding me of those ha-ha's in 'This Is Who I Am' is another let down.
**** A very solid return for Delta but this track is already sounding dated compared with even her older stuff.

Peaked at #7 on my personal chart.

Came in at #93 on my TOP 200 OF 2012. Last edited: 20.12.2015 05:21
****** Delta never makes a bad song because after all she's still our Aussie darling.

Her album COTU will be back charting again when The Voice comes back on TV.

I don't really care about Arcade Fire, I just enjoy this song because it's great to dance to.

Some people just think too negatively about Delta, I don't.

Delta's been through a lot and if people would still have a heart they would have forgiven her by now.

If you have been through cancer then you'll know what I mean. I find it insulting that some people call it a sob story.

Because it's not one at all. If she has been through it then you'll mind as change your mind about how you treat her.

SOTOTW is still a great song. Delta has proven that she's only human and humans are allowed to make mistakes.

And when she learns from them. She'd make better songs.

*** I'm a fan of Delta but it is a bad comeback song from her. Luckily the succeeding singles were better than this.

^I suppose it's not that bad but but still disappointing and underwhelming for a comeback. Last edited: 30.12.2013 06:31
**** ♪ Every time you close your eyes (lies! lies!) ♪

Great track, but it doesn't help that I can't think about it on its own without thinking about a very similar Arcade Fire track. Last edited: 23.05.2014 12:53
**** Plagiarism? LIES!

Well I was late to that dead horse, but regardless its a solid pop tune that at least cites a bloody good source and does it enough justice, will sit along Wonderwall of Broken Dreams next to my 'lame music jokes' list
***** Flotter Happy-Pop-Sound der Australierin. Bin überrascht, dass das so erfolgreich war, hat sie doch klar bessere Songs zu bieten... 4*

edit: Gehe nun doch noch rauf auf die -5*. Last edited: 30.12.2016 07:50
