Dr. John hat viele Verdienste, aber seine Stimme klang schon immer total abgesoffen. Titelsong des Albums von 1972.

Schliesse mich Musicfreak an, finde das ebenfalls die beste Version, von denen, die ich kenne. Genau seine "abgesoffene" Stimme ist ja das Geile an Dr. John. Der Rhythmus gefällt mir auch sehr. Von A bis Z ein tolles Teil.

Seine Stimme ist eine Sache für sich (stört mich hier überhaupt nicht), eingespielt wurde der Klassiker jedenfalls hervorragend. Man spürt das der Mann einfach wusste, wie man diesen New-Orleans-Klassiker richtig anpackt. Da kommen vor allen Dingen die zahlreichen Plastikversionen nicht mit.
