I'm not exaggerating here, this is my absolute favourite song of 2014 so far. This is brilliant pop music. The great lyrics, the verbose but catchy chorus, the big build-up in the bridge... amazing stuff and shows what GRL are capable of.
*****
A good pop song.

"ok you're pretty , your face is a work of art & your smile could light up New York City after dark. ok you're cover boy pretty stamped with a beauty mark but it's such a pity , a boy so pretty with an ugly heart"<br><br>Sehr guter Pop-Track!

Comparisons to the Pussycat Dolls are quite apt, but unkike some of their tracks this doesn't grab me. The subtle folk elements are a but cringey and I could definitely do without them. The song is okay I guess, but I don't find it anywhere near as enjoyable as the other reviewers on here do.

I expected a bit more to be honest.

There's something off putting I just can't identify here. I can identify hating the vocals of one of them though. The chorus has it's moments and could help the song grow on me.<br><br>Edit: It already is growing on me. I find it to be rather interesting and it has a bizarre kind of charm to it.

The chorus is still rather tuneless for me, but overall this isn't too bad.

Better than their effort on WWL, pretty good.
***
Folk Dance Pop, wenig überzeugende Darbietung dieser Girlgroup, 2.75...<br>
****
Despite the iPhone ringtone at the beginning, this is a pretty solid pop track. I'll be interested to see if they can follow this up, or if they'll fade into obscurity...

This is my 'why are ppl buying this' song atm, it's totally cringe worthy in every aspect and that video is horrid. Feel like i'm back in the mid 2000's again, GO AWAY!<br><br>TRASH!
***
**
Not quite getting this one. The monotonous chorus is very difficult to listen to, I wish they did more vocally. The lyrics are the most interesting thing, but they're combined with the most boring melody, I'd rather listen to nothing.
*****
Aufgestellter Pop mit einer schönen Message. 4-5*

Too bad the vocals are bad because the song is quite catchy. 3.5

Hate it.....that's all I can say

For a Robin Antin band, it's not the typical first single I would have expected from them. Okay, it's disposable pop music, but it has a good message and overall, it is very catchy. <br><br>R.I.P. Simone

Ugly voices in a way. Den Teenies down under gefällt's.

▒ ┌∩┐stront (◣_◢) vervelend┌∩┐ ☺!!!

I might have to give this more time - but it really isn't doing anything for me at the moment. It is what it is - a cheesy pop track - worth 3 stars at least.
***
The tune struggles to get momentum to grab my interest. Too many 'pretty' words in the chorus and bridge makes the lyrics not flow so well. <br>However, this has grown on me over time. The final chorus does have the right tempo lift. It just needed to be earlier in the song, then they could have worked with something extra for the rest. 3.5*

I think the first time I heard this, all I could notice was a stylistic similarity to "Wild Wild Love", which made me wonder what sort of creative hands would have led to something like that, since G.R.L. are genuinely the only connection between the two tracks, yet have no writing credits to show on it.<br><br>And then from that I was glad to see it become a big hit if only to show that perhaps the public would be more perceptive towards Pitbull-like songs that don't actually have Pitbull in them, ha! I at least know in this case that I certainly am, but then it helps that with a bigger stage, G.R.L. get more space to show off, with each member getting a solo, and some impressive vocal runs to show towards the end of the track.<br><br>Simple but effective subject. I almost wonder if there's a hint of chronology to it, with the chorus suggesting his face could 'light up New York City after dark', but after noting several times that he's not the best of characters, by the time you get to the bridge, it's demoted to 'could probably light up New York after dark'. Granted, it reverts back just after, but it's hard to care when that last chorus reels it in so well. 3.9

This is a killer track in every way possible. The vocals are solid, the production is catchy but the best part of this song for me is the lyrics. Its awesome to see a song with a good meaning behind it do well on the charts, although it's a shame the song never hit #1. I'm 100% with Hjinx on the final chorus, it really does wrap a the song very well Hopefully this is just the start of something great for G.R.L. :D
**
Okay I feel I was way too harsh but this is still flawed in too many essential areas. My big issue though is that THE CHORUS IS ONLY ON ONE NOTE. Just a huge turnoff regardless of everything else that is good about the song. The additional vocal layers later on do help, but not enough for me to get over it.
