Bevor er 1976 bei den Eagles Bernie Leadon ersetzte, war Joe Walsh schon bei der 'James Gang' und bei 'Barnstorm' sowie solo aktiv. <br>Nach dem Eagles-Megaseller 'Hotel California' spielte er dieses hervorragende Album ein, das mit einer kürzeren Version von 'Life's Been Good' sogar einen Hit abwarf. Dieser satirische Song über das Leben als Rockstar ist auch neben der entspannten Westcoast-Nummer 'Indian Summer' das Highlight auf dem Album. Jedoch sind auch die anderen Albumtracks sehr, sehr gut. Allen voran das Neil Young-artige 'Second Hand Store' sowie 'At The Station', wo Eagles-Kumpel Don Felder die zweite Gitarre beisteuert und 'Tomorrow', bei welchem seine anderen Eagles-Kollegen Don Henley, Glenn Frey und Timothy B. Schmit im Backgroundchor zu hören sind. Außerdem gibt es noch zwei eher ruhigere, in einander übergehende Instrumentals ('Inner Tube' und 'Theme From Boat Weirdos'), beide recht hübsch. Zu guter letzt ist noch der Opener 'Over And Over' zu erwähnen, der zwar songmäßig etwas abfällt, aber durch Joe Walsh's starkes Slide-Gitarrenspiel gewinnt. <br>Das Album belegte 1978 #16 in UK und #8 in USA.<br><br>Fazit: ich kenne natürlich nicht jedes Solo-Album aller (Ex)-Eagles Musiker, aber von denen, die mir bekannt sind, ist das hier das Stärkste. Meine Bewertung: klare 5*

Enthält mit "Life's Been Good" zwar einen absoluten <br>Klassiker des American Rock, aber zumindest 6 der 7<br>Stücke zuvor kommen leider über das Prädikat "gepflegtes<br>Mittelmass" nicht hinaus.<br><br>Kein schlechtes Album, aber dann doch nicht so gut wie<br>seine beiden ersten.....<br><br>4 ++
