Its about time that the Music Industry charted a Swae Lee song in NZ. I like this one and good on it for hitting number one. I am also glad that this is a nice pop sound for Post Malone and his vocals improve really well. |

Begleitet mich schon eine ganze Weile, denn immer wiedermal hörte ich das Teil hier irgendwo. Ich finde es super gelungen, da es nicht nur ein hervorstechender Ohrwurm ist, sondern auch einer, der bislang keine Abnutzung oder nen Störfaktor aufweist. Da stört mich die eher monotone Strickweise auch nicht wirklich, doch verhindert 1* zur vollen Punktezahl meinerseits. |

It's catchy with a lighthearted vibe, however the lyrics are much deeper than they at first appear. Using the sunflower as a metaphor for a partner, the two verses tell different stories of failed or failing relationships. Swae Lee's verse tells of a very volatile relationship, while Post Malone's talks of a relationship which faces difficulties because Post keeps leaving. Like the sunflower relies on the sun to survive, the girl/s in question rely on their partner, which is not a healthy situation. Both artists give surprisingly strong vocal performances here, something which I hadn't previously thought either would be capable of. Overall, this is loads of fun, and I have loved the success it's had.

It's crazy to think about how popular a song from a spider-man film (let alone a kids one) can get but Sunflower absolutely deserves it. The song doesn't need to swear (well it can't because it's from a kids movie) to convey its message and the meaning behind each of the lines is pretty good. I especially love the chorus because it's just unconventional to a typical pop song.<br><br>But here we are, and I can't believe I'm giving a Post Malone song a 6. |
