Highlights: I Dreamed A Dream / Master Of The House / Stars / Bring Him Home / Empty Chairs At Empty Tables / Epilogue

Last edited: 18.03.2013 17:07 |
| **** Pretty decent effort. It's quite different listening to a soundtrack like this because since it's a musical, the album's music pretty much is the entire movie. While I loved the movie, I didn't love certain factors of the singing - I'm not a huge fan of Hugh Jackman or Russell Crowe's voices. But Samantha Barks and Eddie Redmayne are both absolute stars with amazing voices. Several big songs on here that are great - On My Own, I Dreamed a Dream, Red and Black - that are all performed well so a 4 for me.

80/120. |

| **** While it's not quite a polished as a studio recording (all these songs were sung live during filming) they are fantastic songs in their own right and are reasonably done justice on here. A definite highlight being 'Do you hear the people sing', 'One day more' and Anne Hathaway's award winning rendition of 'I dreamed a Dream'.

If you get a chance go do yourself and listen to the 10th Anniversary Concert at Royal Albert Hall instead. It's the best. Last edited: 17.04.2017 20:48 |
